I recently met up with Cintia and John for a portrait session.  I’m always trying to figure out what to call one of these sessions, and for some reason I thought of one of my oldest friends named Darryl.  We grew up on the same block in Brooklyn and did everything together, well almost everything.  One time he told me that two brothers and himself formed a rap group and were calling themselves “Just us 3.”   I think after a while they the two brothers dropped Darryl and went back to “Just Us Two.” So with that said don’t bother asking me how I connected it to my photography, I just did.

I recently spent a few hours taking part in photo walk put together by Scott Kelby.  It’s cool to just walk around with other photographers and point your camera at whatever happens to capture your interest.  This year the South Street Sea Port was the setting for most of my images.

Here’s some of my favorites…

Here’s a few images of Johnnie and Patricia again.  The day after their marriage we took a taxi into downtown Oranjestad.

Got to love these two!!!

The morning of Patricia and Johnnie’s wedding I decided to go for a walk and had the pleasure of meeting a gentlemen who reminded me what life is all about.  Every morning like clock work he hits the beach with his net and bucket.   At first  I thought he was catching the fish for himself to eat, I felt he need a whole lot of them because they were pretty small.  But then after a while he took a break from throwing his net along the shore and went over to his bucket.   He picked up one of the fish, waved it over his head and gulls started to appear overhead.   He toss the fish in the air and sure enough one of the gulls snatched it out of mid air.  As people watched he allowed them to give it a try.

And that’s his thing…..    pretty cool way to spend your day.
